Addressing a Global Water Crisis

Globally, more than 2.2 billion people still lack access to safe drinking water. At the same time, the fashion industry remains one of the most water-intensive sectors worldwide. For instance, producing a single pair of jeans can consume nearly 9,000 litres of water across cultivation, dyeing, and finishing processes.

A Strategic Partnership for Greater Impact

Against this backdrop, drip by drip has appointed Eco Age as its strategic marketing, PR, and communications partner. Through this collaboration, the non-profit aims to elevate water justice within global fashion conversations. Moreover, the partnership seeks to accelerate progress toward providing clean water access to one million people.

Bridging Fashion, Water, and Social Impact

Founded in 2018, drip by drip operates at the intersection of water, textiles, and social impact. The organisation focuses on education, community-led water projects, and grassroots engagement. As a result, it addresses the man-made water crisis linked to textile production with practical, scalable solutions.

Scaling Awareness Across the Fashion Ecosystem

As part of the partnership, Eco Age will help connect drip by drip’s on-ground work with global industry platforms. Consequently, water justice will be positioned as both urgent and solvable across the fashion ecosystem. This includes brands, suppliers, standards bodies, and media.

Proven Impact in Textile-Producing Regions

To date, drip by drip has implemented 114 community water projects across Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Ethiopia. Together, these initiatives have positively impacted more than 280,000 people. Importantly, these regions face sustained pressure on local water systems due to fashion supply chains.

Leadership Perspectives

“Our ambition is clear: to reach one million people with access to clean water,” said Amira Jehia, Executive Director of drip by drip. “To achieve this, our work must travel further. Eco Age understands how to bring complex issues into the mainstream fashion dialogue without losing integrity.”

Meanwhile, John Higginson, CEO of Eco Age, added, “drip by drip is already delivering tangible results. Therefore, our role is to help ensure this impact is shared, understood, and supported across the industry.”

Turning Awareness into Action

Together, drip by drip and Eco Age aim to make water justice a practical and achievable pillar of fashion sustainability. Ultimately, the collaboration focuses on transforming awareness into action, delivering real outcomes for communities most affected by textile production.
