On November 28, 2024, the Infant & Kids Products Expo (IKPE) 2024 was opened at the Jio World Convention Centre by Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of the MVIRDC World Trade Center Mumbai and President of the All India Association of Industries (AIAI).
During the opening, Dr. Kalantri stated that these kinds of shows give manufacturers and business owners a chance to expand their sales and reach all over the country.
Dr. Kalantri added that the B2B Expo facilitates communication between toy companies and distributors, wholesalers, retailers, government organizations, corporations, schools, online platforms, and exporters.
In order to inform Indian consumers about the newest features, designs, and product innovations used by local manufacturers and to urge them to choose local brands over imported ones, Dr. Kalantri said, “We need more such exhibitions to promote local brands in the domestic market.”
Dr. Kalantri went on to say that the Expo will assist MSMEs in expanding their sales and marketing their goods across the country, which will boost GDP growth and job creation. The market for toys and accessories is currently worth over Rs. 5000 crore, but it has potential to rise to Rs. 15,000 cr in the next five years, which would reduce imports.
