Don C has been named as Mitchell & Ness’ new Design Director of Premium Goods. The pair worked together for the first time in 2021 to release the opulent Just Don caps. Eventually, Don C applied his inventiveness to other product lines, including the NBA Jam, No Name, and other high-end clothing and hat collections.
The announcement comes just one year after Fanatics, a leading global digital sports platform, purchased Mitchell & Ness. A year after being hired as the Chicago Bulls’ creative strategy and design advisor, Don C also joins. Don C’s hiring at Mitchell & Ness intends to increase the lifestyle brand’s reputation among sports, entertainment, and business thanks to his depth of experience as a tastemaker in the streetwear and sports industries.
The CEO of Mitchell & Ness, Kevin Wulff, issued the following statement: “After working with Don for many years, we’re thrilled to have him formally join the Mitchell & Ness family. Don is really an icon and visionary. The brand’s supporters can anticipate exciting new goods in all leagues that combine the tradition of the company with Don C’s avant-garde creative vision. Around the start of the MLB season in April, Don C will release the MLB “Cooperstown Collection” as one of his first joint ventures. Just Don premium shorts honouring the Colorado Rockies, Florida Marlins, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Tampa Bay Rays, the MLB’s most recent expansion teams, are part of the collection.
Don C will keep releasing the beloved NBA shorts and headwear gear that his fans have come to love while infusing his designs with some of the best and most recognisable basketball influences. Working with Mitchell & Ness is a dream come true, according to Don. It’s an honour to be able to influence something that profoundly influenced me via my creative journey and love of sports because I grew up wearing throwbacks and sportswear. Together the Mitchell & Ness team, I’m excited to tell more timeless stories and develop more enduring products.
