Dolce & Gabbana, the luxury fashion brand, continues to support new talents in the fashion world. They’ve previously helped designers like Matty Bovan, Tomo Koizumi, and Karoline Vitto showcase their designs in Milan, and now they’ve chosen Feben, a rising star from Ethiopia based in London, for their next runway show during Milan’s womenswear fashion week in February.

Feben has had quite an eventful life. Born in Ethiopia and spending her early years in North Korea’s refugee camps, she later moved to Sweden at 18. Eventually, she made her way to the UK, studying at the London College of Fashion. Winning a scholarship for a master’s degree at Central Saint Martins, she later joined Newgen, a start-up program by the British Fashion Council.

Her graduation collection caught everyone’s attention in the fashion world, leading Beyoncé to commission some stage costumes from her. With more clients lining up for her designs, Feben launched her own label, handling it with a small team. Known for her expertise in textiles and vibrant, daring designs, she’s recognized as a promising talent at London Fashion Week.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana expressed their admiration for Feben’s creative energy, praising her focus on handmade items and collaborations with artisans worldwide. The Italian label plans to support Feben entirely for her next collection, right from finding fabrics to creating the looks and organizing the show in Milan.
