Dior has joined forces with Japanese artist Otani Workshop to create a captivating collection filled with whimsical character-themed items. Otani, known for his modern sculptures, designed a charming ceramic green monster named Tanilla exclusively for this collaboration. This delightful creature takes center stage across various pieces in the collection.
The collection features oversized sweaters adorned with Tanilla, as well as bomber jackets, short-sleeved T-shirts, and an array of accessories, including the new B33 tennis sneakers. Tanilla cleverly incorporates Dior’s iconic elements like the burgundy and pink Dior Oblique Toile patterns and reimagined Dior lettering. Additionally, the “Christian Dior Couture” tag can be found on several relaxed trousers within the collection.
Otani Workshop is esteemed in Japan for its expertise in merging traditional artistic techniques with contemporary styles, which is brilliantly showcased in this collaboration with Dior.
The Dior x Otani Workshop collection is set to launch in boutiques and on the brand’s website on 4th January. This collaboration follows Dior’s tradition of partnering with artists and graphic designers, having previously collaborated with New York street artist Kenny Scharf for their iconic menswear collection pre-fall 2021.
