French luxury house Dior has announced the establishment of a new industrial department, signalling a strategic move to enhance control over its manufacturing processes. The department, which will be operational from January 2025, will be led by industry veteran Giorgio Striano as Chief Industrial Officer.

Striano, formerly the COO of Essilor Luxottica, brings a wealth of experience in global industrial operations, particularly in Asia and the United States. In his new role at Dior, he will report directly to CEO Delphine Arnault.

The creation of this in-house industrial division is a response to the increasing complexity of the luxury industry’s supply chain. By taking greater control over production, Dior aims to ensure the continuity of its renowned craftsmanship, ethical standards, and sustainability practices. The brand believes that this approach will allow it to maintain its competitive edge and deliver exceptional quality products to its discerning clientele.

In addition to the appointment of Striano, Dior has named Nicolas Carré as Industrial Director for leather goods, shoes, and fashion jewellery. Carré’s expertise will further bolster the brand’s commitment to innovation and artisanal excellence.

With these strategic appointments and the establishment of the new industrial department, Dior reinforces its position as a leading luxury house dedicated to pushing the boundaries of creativity and luxury.
