The Digital Print Design project undertaken by Ms. Shubhangi Das and Anushree Jain at National Institute of Fashion Technology at Daman showcased a stunning display of designs that seamlessly blend traditional and modern elements. The project focused on creating versatile and visually appealing surface patterns that can be applied to various products. Drawing inspiration from abstract elements, mandala art, and cultural motifs from Rajasthan and West Bengal, the designs developed a unique language that bridges tradition with modern sensibilities.
The designs integrate contemporary and traditional styles, featuring a modern color palette and composition while retaining the essence of Indian folk and cultural art through motifs and detailing. This blend makes the designs adaptable to multiple products, including home furnishing items like cushions and curtains, tote bags, and T-shirts. The versatility of the designs suits both fashion and interior segments, catering to diverse consumer needs.
The project aligns well with current industry trends, where there’s a growing demand for culturally rooted yet modern designs. The fusion approach adopted in the designs appeals to both domestic and global markets, meeting the needs of consumers seeking authenticity with a modern twist in lifestyle and fashion products. By combining traditional elements with modern aesthetics, the project demonstrates the potential for success in the industry.
