The “Best CO2 Utilisation” Innovation Award is now accepting submissions until 6 February 2026. The award seeks pioneering Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) and Power-to-X technologies that convert CO2 into valuable materials and feedstocks. These innovations will be featured at the CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals Conference, scheduled for 28 to 29 April 2026 in Cologne, Germany, and online.
The conference has become an important global platform, attracting more than 230 participants from industry, research, and policy. It offers innovators a space to present solutions that advance a sustainable and circular carbon economy.
The well-known “Best CO2 Utilisation” Innovation Award is co-organised by nova-Institute and CO2 Value Europe, with support from Yncoris. Previous award-winning examples include breakthroughs in CO2 capture, polymers, construction materials, textiles, synthetic fuels, food supplements, cosmetics, and personal care. An international advisory board will select six finalists. The final three winners will be chosen through live audience voting. Applicants can submit their entries through the link provided.
Growing Global Support for CCU
Recent policy developments continue to highlight CCU’s increasing relevance. The European Union’s ReFuelEU Aviation proposal, the United States’ Inflation Reduction Act, and Japan’s large-scale CO2 capture initiatives reflect rising international investment in renewable carbon solutions. As a result, CCU is emerging as an essential tool for climate mitigation and a dependable source of renewable carbon.
Conference Highlights
The event offers expert presentations, panel discussions, poster pitches, and a dedicated trade exhibition. These sessions provide deeper insights into technological advances, market dynamics, and regulatory updates across the CCU sector. Additionally, organisations can increase their visibility through sponsorships and exhibition opportunities.
The conference is organised by nova-Institute, a global leader in renewable carbon and sustainable chemistry research. Registration details, along with information on sponsorships and exhibition packages, are available on the event website.
