CMAI’s 83rd National Garment Fair Concludes with Record Buyer Turnout and Strong Business Activity

The 83rd National Garment Fair (NGF), organised by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), concluded successfully after three days of business networking and sourcing from 13 to 15 July 2026. Held simultaneously at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, and MMRDA Grounds, BKC, the event welcomed more than 48,500 trade buyers across its Kidswear, Womenswear and Menswear editions, reaffirming its position as India’s largest apparel sourcing platform.

Spanning over 60,000 square metres, this edition featured more than 600 womenswear brands, 345 menswear brands, 600 kidswear brands, and 45 fashion accessories labels, offering retailers, distributors, wholesalers and buying agents a comprehensive sourcing destination ahead of the festive and wedding season.

The fair generated strong business enquiries and order bookings across multiple apparel categories, reflecting healthy market demand. Participation from leading retailers and buying houses representing metro cities as well as Tier II and Tier III markets highlighted the expanding reach of organised apparel retail in India. The presence of around 284 Platinum Buyers further enhanced business opportunities for exhibitors.

Commenting on the industry’s growth, Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, said, “The Indian apparel industry is undergoing a metamorphosis as consumers seek fashion that reflects their individuality, lifestyle, and aspirations. As brands respond with faster product innovation and more diverse collections, platforms like NGF play a vital role in connecting them with retailers looking to meet these changing consumer preferences.”

Reflecting on the fair’s success, Rohit Munjal, Vice President and Chairman, Fair Sub-Committee, CMAI, said, “The overall response has been extremely encouraging, reflecting strong buyer engagement and healthy order bookings across both Womenswear and Menswear segments. The category-focused format enabled retailers to source efficiently while providing brands with valuable opportunities to connect with quality trade partners.”

Anand Chokshi, Joint Chairman, Fair Sub-Committee, CMAI, highlighted the changing dynamics of the apparel market, noting that faster fashion cycles, personalised styling and evolving consumer preferences are reshaping the industry. He added that NGF continues to provide a focused platform for trend discovery, innovation and meaningful business collaborations.

Exhibitors also reported a positive response throughout the event.

Mohit Satra, Owner of RE Channel, said the quality of buyers, exhibitors and retail participation continues to make NGF one of the industry’s most successful trade events.

Representing TURTLE, Santosh shared that the brand, which achieved a turnover of nearly ₹500 crore last year, is targeting approximately 25% growth this year and expects its participation at NGF to strengthen brand visibility and market expansion.

Deepti from Juniper said the brand has been exhibiting at NGF for around 15 years and continues to benefit from the platform through strong business response and valuable trade relationships despite challenging market conditions.

Sachin Vora from Redrose described NGF as a national platform where the apparel industry comes together to build business partnerships. He also welcomed the increased focus on the innerwear category, which he believes will support further segment growth.

Representing Aanchal, Gurmaya and Reatra, Mohit from Ahmedabad said the fair generated several new business enquiries while also creating opportunities to connect with international buyers from markets including Fiji, Australia and Malaysia.

Having successfully completed 83 editions, the National Garment Fair continues to strengthen CMAI’s role as a leading facilitator of B2B trade, industry networking and business growth within India’s apparel sector.
