The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) successfully hosted an exclusive AI Masterclass titled “Traditional Business Se AI-Powered Business Tak” on 3 June 2026 at Yogi Sabhagruh, Dadar, Mumbai, bringing together more than 600 apparel industry stakeholders.

The session attracted apparel manufacturers, retailers, brand owners, and entrepreneurs seeking to understand how Artificial Intelligence can reshape business operations and accelerate growth in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The masterclass was led by AI Evangelist Dr. CA Umang Ratani, who demonstrated practical applications of AI across key business functions including marketing, sales, customer engagement, productivity enhancement, decision-making, and business automation. The session combined real-world use cases with live demonstrations, enabling participants to understand how AI can be integrated into traditional apparel business models.

CMAI President Santosh Katariya highlighted the association’s commitment to equipping the apparel industry with the knowledge and technological capabilities needed to remain competitive in a digital-first environment. He also announced a new Personal Accident Insurance scheme for CMAI primary members, offering coverage benefits of up to ₹25 lakh, reinforcing CMAI’s member-focused initiatives.

Dr. Ratani emphasised that AI is now an accessible tool for businesses of all sizes, not just large corporations. He noted that early adoption can significantly enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and long-term growth potential for apparel enterprises.

CMAI Membership & Growth Committee Chairman Nirav Sanghvi noted that the masterclass helped participants better understand the transformative potential of AI through practical insights and expert guidance.

The interactive session also addressed key concerns around AI adoption and provided a roadmap for businesses beginning their digital transformation journey. Participants explored tools and strategies that can be immediately applied within their organisations.

In addition to the masterclass, CMAI launched its new mobile application CMAI Connect, designed to serve as a unified digital platform for industry updates, networking, event registrations, policy information, and member benefits. The app is available on both iOS and Android platforms.

With initiatives such as this, CMAI continues to strengthen its role in enabling digital transformation, fostering innovation, and supporting sustainable growth across India’s apparel manufacturing ecosystem.
