According to Bloomberg, Cheryan Jacob has been appointed as Nike’s chief information officer (CIO), a position created this month to support the company’s global technical teams.
Jacob has a background in both technology and business, having begun his career in India as a computer architecture and hardware engineer. In 2004, he began working as a research assistant in biostatistics and data modeling at the American University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Jacob has almost eight years of experience at Microsoft, where he worked on the company’s global network, among other things. He previously served as chief technology officer for stealth [a company that has not yet gone public], a private investment firm in Dallas, Texas.
