Successful presentation of CHINA WAVE at Pitti Uomo 106 11 to 14 June 2024 

The successful launch of Pitti Uomo and Chic’s exclusive collaboration took place from June 11–14, 2024, at Florence’s Fortezza da Basso. Notable young designers made an outstanding presentation.

∙ Not only did buyers and sales partners from across the globe express interest in China’s innovative high fashion, but they also made orders.

For the participating Chinese designer brands in the “2024 China National Garment Association Overseas Programme,” the opening of the CHINA WAVE pavilion at Pitti Uomo 106, the first destination, was a resounding success. The Costruzioni Lorenesi in Florence’s Fortezza da Basso housed remarkable designs from Chinese brands that made an impression on the global fashion scene. The pieces also impressed renowned fashion journalist Suzy Menkes.

To commemorate the pavilion’s opening, the organizers threw a casual cocktail reception on the first day of the fair. With the presentation at Pitti Uomo 106, Chen Dapeng, Vice President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council and President of the China National Garment Association, verified the association’s international program’s successful launch and expressed gratitude to the trade fair organizers for their support.

The fashionable brands VALLEYOUTH, KB HONG BY K BOXING, RAXXY, JDV, FENGGY, BLACKHEAD, KEYONE BY HATTERSHUB, TYPETAIL, and others delighted media representatives, buyers, and fashionistas with their innovative designs and high-quality looks. As demonstrated by the collections of KB HONG by BY K-BOXING, JDV, and VALLEYOUTH, among others, the fusion of modern styles with traditional Chinese elements drew in a global audience from Italy, Germany, France, Great Britain, Spain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and many other countries.

Suzy Menkes was one of the people who welcomed guests to the pavilion. She highlighted how well tradition and modernity are combined in pieces like those by KB HONG by BY K-BOXING and VALLEYOUTH at the CHINA WAVE pavilion. Fashion blogger Augusto Ferretti described the designs of VALLEYOUTH as “artistic sculptures” after the brand’s new collection was unveiled at Vogue World by fashion photographer Acielle from style du monde. Buyers from all over the world, including Harvey Nichols from London, Ramon Addazi Gouveia from Singapore, Simons from Canada, Cercle du Commerce from France, Nikkei Japan, Nozomi Sato from Tokyo, Apparel Group Dubai, and LPP from Poland, among others, expressed interest in the styles and distribution of the Chinese designer brands at Pitti Uomo 106 and have already placed orders.
