Chanel is gearing up to open its very first standalone store in the United States dedicated solely to watches and fine jewelry. Situated on Fifth Avenue, this two-story boutique, crafted by New York architect Peter Marino, pays tribute to Gabrielle Chanel’s legacy. The design draws inspiration from her iconic creations and personal style, mirroring the elegance of Chanel’s high jewelry workshop in Paris.
The boutique’s exterior, framed by the historic Crown Building, features black granite and bronze accents behind a striking iron and glass facade. Inside, visitors are welcomed into a luxurious space adorned with gold and black hues, complemented by rock crystal details—a material cherished by Gabrielle Chanel. The interior reflects the ambiance of Chanel’s own apartment, complete with custom furniture, contemporary artworks, and antique treasures.
The boutique boasts a gallery room illuminated by exquisite rock crystal chandeliers, along with two dedicated Fine Jewelry Salons featuring intricate wall finishes and ornate mirrors. A staircase leads to the mezzanine floor, where private client appointments can be arranged in one of the Fine Jewelry Salons.
Chanel’s affinity for the art world is evident throughout the boutique, showcasing curated pieces from renowned artists like Vik Muniz and Louise Nevelson. The store showcases a variety of collections, including Coco Crush and N°5 Fine Jewelry, alongside the iconic J12 timepieces and the newly reinterpreted Première Edition Originale.
To celebrate the opening, Chanel will unveil exclusive High Jewelry designs, including the “Eternal N°5” collection and the Lion Solaire de Chanel collection. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the masterpiece necklace from the N°5 High Jewelry collection, featuring a rare diamond cut to perfection.
