Striking a balance between strength and femininity, the catsuit has made its official return and all of our favourite celebrities are wearing it with great panache. From Kim Kardashian, Priyanka Chopra, Hailey Bieber, Bella Hadid to Dua Lipa and Beyoncé, the catsuit sits at the top of the list of wardrobe must-haves for most celebrities. The ultra- trendy and body-hugging silhouette evoke a sense of power
and sensuality without being overly revealing. Not to be confused with a bodysuit or plain-old jumpsuit, the catsuit is an all-in- one garment that is equally skin-tight, but covers the entire body, typically from the neck to the feet. Since then, catsuits have been a part of various iconic looks. It has been recognized as a key item particularly in the superhero genre of movies and styling. Today, as designers reimagine fashion staples from the noughties like low-rise jeans, miniskirts, belly chains, and more, catsuits too have returned to the spotlight accompanied with a contemporary twist.

From monochromatic hues to perky prints, catsuits were a common sighting on the spring 2022 runways of Prada, Balenciaga, Marien Serre, and Richard Quinn, etc. The campy ensemble however has gone through some major modifications as a part of its 2022 comeback. It has got bolder and edgier.Catsuits are now the ultimate celebrity wardrobe must-have.

Rihanna has been spotted donning monochrome catsuits way too many times now whereas Kim Kardashian served some major goals in her bright pink Balenciaga catsuit with built-in heels recently. Hailey Bieber, Cardi B, Dua Lipa, and MileyCyrus too have been spotted going all out with their catsuits featuring the boldest of prints, graphics, as well as varied

silhouettes. While most of them have sported the catsuit solo, it’s easy to transform the look with a little savvy layering. Priyanka Chopra, for instance, donned a vibrant floral catsuit by Richard Quinn
at The Fashion Awards where she layered it up with a matching floor- sweeping coat. Taylor Swift too paired her lacy Sarah Regensburger catsuit with a classic black blazer at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year whereas Kim Kardashian topped her sleeveless Balenciaga catsuit with a dress made from linked silver chains.

What makes this trend even more significant is that its popularity is not just restricted to the high fashion runways or the red carpets. It has become a major street style staple for fashion enthusiasts too.

To try the look yourself, you may surf your way through the trend by sporting it in solid hues at first
and then slowly levitating towards the bolder ones featuring prints, cutouts, and graphics. Layering is
always a good option but if you don’t mind flaunting that sense of empowerment and sensuality a little bit, just go all out!
