As celebrations for Pride month kick off, Canadian musician Vivek Shraya has collaborated with designer Mic. Carter to launch a new VERS Shirt for Carter’s brand L’uomo Stano. This isn’t the duo’s first time coming together for a project, as their 2022 release of the VERS Shirt sold out in just four weeks. For this latest incarnation, the shirt features eye-catching colour-blocking and several practical zippered details, making it a versatile and functional addition to one’s wardrobe. And for that added touch of fun, the shirt also comes with a matching scrunchie!

Meanwhile, Toronto-based designers Vitaly and Spencer Badu have joined forces to create the Coast chain. The design was inspired by Spencer Badu’s Ghanaian heritage and the idea of migration. The chain is beautifully adorned with African turquoise stones and real cowrie shells, and features a detachable Ghanaian adinkra symbol that represents “Unity”.

Canadian jewellery designer Dean Davidson is celebrating its 15th anniversary in the industry with a line of fresh releases, including a collaboration with artist Yaw Tony. The pair’s creation comprises of two limited-edition, luxurious silk scarves that are sure to add some panache to any outfit. The scarves feature unique designs that merge both artists’ aesthetics, making them a must-have accessory for anyone with an appreciation for art and fashion.

In a bid to make its mark in the swimwear market, Londre Bodywear has teamed up with former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Sixtine Rouyre for a new swimwear collection. Rouyre has been actively involved in the design process, ensuring that each piece is both fashionable and functional. The collection features a variety of styles perfect for any occasion, from lounging by the pool to taking a dip in the ocean.

All of these collaborations are significant as they continue to push forward and embrace diversity and inclusivity in the fashion industry. From the incorporation of Ghanaian heritage to showcasing the talents of artists from different realms, these releases demonstrate the power that comes when creatives come together. Plus, with affordable options from Dean Davidson’s scarf collection to versatile pieces like the VERS shirt, fashion enthusiasts across all demographics can enjoy these stunning releases.
