The 75th edition of Cairo Fashion & Tex, a premier textile and fashion exhibition, kicked off on October 3rd, 2024, at the Cairo International Exhibition and Conference Centre. Under the patronage of the Egyptian Ministries of Industry and Investment, and the Ready-Made Garment Chamber of the Federation of Industries, the event showcased the latest trends, innovations, and opportunities in the textile and apparel sector.
Sherif Al-Mawardy, Chairperson of Egypt Expo & Convention Authority (EECA), emphasised the pivotal role of exhibitions in revitalising industrial sectors. He underscored Cairo Fashion & Tex’s significance as a specialised platform for the clothing, textile, and accessories industry, attracting delegates from across Arab and foreign countries. Al-Mawardy highlighted EECA’s commitment to organising both domestic and international exhibitions, facilitating trade missions, and fostering partnerships between manufacturers, importers, and local traders.
Mohamed El-Sherif, Chairperson of Pyramids International Group, the exhibition’s organiser, announced robust participation from leading companies and factories worldwide. With over 550 exhibitors from Egypt and countries including India, Turkey, China, Germany, Italy, and more, Cairo Fashion & Tex offered a comprehensive overview of the fashion industry. The event showcased the latest trends in men’s and women’s clothing, sportswear, knitwear, and socks, as well as advanced technologies and equipment used in clothing production and accessories.
Anticipated export deals during the exhibition were estimated to range between $20 and $30 million, with significant growth potential. The diverse presence of clothing industry professionals from various countries created an ideal platform for designers, manufacturers, and traders to network and explore new business opportunities.
Mohamed Atef, General Manager of Pyramids International Group, highlighted the strong participation from Arab and foreign countries, including delegations from Algeria, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. He emphasised Cairo Fashion & Tex’s importance as a specialised exhibition for the fashion industry in Egypt and the Middle East, contributing to enhanced bilateral trade and supporting local industries.
The event aligned with Egypt’s ambitious goal of reaching $145 billion in exports by 2030, promoting localization, creating job opportunities, and fostering economic growth.
