C&A, the retail chain, has announced an ambitious strategy to broaden its presence across Europe by introducing 100 new stores within the next three years. Carsten Horn, the newly appointed head of Germany, revealed that the company’s focus will encompass regions such as Romania, Poland, Italy, and key German cities including Hamburg, Berlin, and eastern areas. The brand’s expansion plans for 2024 include store openings in Madrid, Amsterdam, Paris, and Milan.

In a departure from traditional retail approaches, Horn emphasized the brand’s commitment to providing customers with an inspiring and curated shopping experience. He noted a shift away from the conventional model of sifting through numerous textiles on multiple floors, stating, “They don’t want to rummage through six floors of masses of textiles; they want to be inspired while shopping and discover new outfits. Less mass on clothes racks and more stage for fashion.”

Currently operating over 1300 stores across 17 countries, with nearly 400 in Germany alone, C&A has already modernized approximately two-thirds of its existing stores. Recent store launches in Hamburg, Heilbronn, and Singen reflect the brand’s ongoing efforts to align with evolving consumer preferences and deliver a more contemporary and engaging shopping environment.
