BFW adopts sustainability standards.

Berlin Fashion Week (BFW) & Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) have joined forces to implement the Sustainability Requirements framework, developed by CPHFW, at BFW. The Minimum Standards will become a mandatory criterion for show brands at Berlin Fashion Week.

Michael Biel, the state secretary for Economic Affairs, believes that by implementing Sustainability Requirements, Berlin will become a leading international location for a responsible and innovative fashion industry. The city will receive financial support of 180,000 euros until 2025 to invest in sustainability, specifically through practices like upcycling and the use of recycled materials.

Fashion Council Germany is excited to announce a partnership with Copenhagen Fashion Week, known for its sustainability efforts. By adopting the Sustainability Requirements at Berlin Fashion Week.

Copenhagen Fashion Week has made Minimum Standards a requirement for its show brands for three seasons. The partnership with Berlin Fashion Week aims to bring greater alignment within the industry. This collaboration highlights the importance of fashion weeks and councils in driving positive change in the industry.
