As the pre-Met Gala events get underway, people are pouring into Manhattan as the countdown to the first Monday in May approaches. Daniel Roseberry, the creative director of Schiaparelli, arrived in New York directly from Paris to celebrate the house’s spring 2024 collection with Linda Fargo and Bergdorf Goodman.
A small display of Schiaparelli’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear outfits welcomed guests to Casa Cruz.
Naturally, Kendall Jenner’s last ensemble from the collection—which was created using hundreds of red, almond-shaped artificial nails—was front and center. The famous, life-sized gold lobster necklace owned by the house was on display not far away.
“I spent months courting Daniel until I was able to persuade Schiaparelli to travel to New York with Bergdorf,” said Fargo. “It’s been amazing to watch his vision take shape on the streets of Manhattan, and we had an overwhelmingly positive response from our community when his surrealist collection arrived in stores.”
Amid one of the most anticipated weekends of the year, friends and fashionistas alike turned out in style to salute Roseberry. Renowned attendees like Eva Chen, Blake Abbie, Anh Duong, and others graced the event, all dressed in Schiaparelli ensembles. While Adam Selman, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, and Amy Sedaris held court at the bar.
As the famous canapés made their way around the room, guests relished the crisp spring air on the rooftop patio under the pink and white tented canopy. Even though Sunday was jam-packed with last-minute changes, glam testing, and fittings, the evening seemed lively.
Roseberry grinned and said, “It’s great to be in New York with such vibrant energy building up to Monday night.” The designer has dressed Carey Mulligan, Michaela Coel, and Kim Kardashian, to mention a few, at previous Met Galas. The world will be glued to the red carpet premieres on Monday night, anxious to see this year’s Schiaparelli swan class.
