BCC&I Financial Market Conclave Examines India’s Next Growth Cycle

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) hosted its annual Financial Market Conclave at the Four Seasons, Mumbai.

The conclave brought together financial regulators, banking executives and institutional asset managers. This year’s theme was “Indian Financial Markets at an Inflection Point: Capital, Confidence & the Next Growth Cycle.”

The day-long event focused on India’s financial markets and economic growth. Speakers examined capital mechanisms, policy frameworks and changing market conditions.

Financial Leaders Discuss Market Transformation

The conclave featured several senior financial sector leaders.

The inaugural address was delivered by Shri Ashwini Kumar Tewari, Managing Director, State Bank of India. Meanwhile, Shri Shirish Chandra Murmu, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India, participated in a keynote fireside chat.

Senior financial journalist Tamal Bandyopadhyay moderated the conversation. The programme also included a valedictory session led by Shri Ashok Kumar Soni, Executive Director, PFRDA.

In addition, leaders from organisations such as HDFC Mutual Fund, Tata Mutual Fund, HSBC Mutual Fund, Bandhan Mutual Fund and Kotak Life addressed key developments in dedicated sessions.

Rahul Banerjee Moderates Wealth Creation Panel

A key afternoon session focused on wealth creation strategies. Titled “Alpha in an Age of Uncertainty: Wealth Creation Strategies for the New Market Cycle,” the panel was moderated by Rahul Banerjee.

Banerjee is Founder & Managing Director of PGP Academy. He also leads PGP Wealth and serves as a Member of the Finance and Banking National Committee at BCC&I.

The session examined ways to navigate market volatility. It also explored portfolio construction and risk-adjusted wealth creation.

Furthermore, the discussion incorporated behavioural finance principles. These included managing loss aversion and addressing short-term decision-making biases.

The session focused on practical strategies for financial professionals and investors. It also highlighted the importance of disciplined decision-making during changing market cycles.
