At India Couture Week in New Delhi on July 27, Varun Bahl presented a vivaciously feminine collection. Bollywood star Bhumi Pednekar led the runway walk for the designer wearing a golden 3D flower ensemble.

Bahl experimented with floral designs, beading, and striking 3D appliqués this season. Sleek gowns and avant-garde bubble dresses were among the experimental pieces in the collection, which also featured traditional craft skills to make other items like sarees and other classic designs that stood out on the runway.

The collection also included menswear with a similar feminine yet powerful design. On black suits and traditional sets, sheer black fabrics combined with large flower designs are used. Shri Paramani Jewels, the jewellery sponsor for the showcase, enhanced Bahl’s appearances with a variety of textured and natural jewellery.

“Last night I walked for one of my oldest friends Varun Bahl Couture and it was just so special,” Pednekar posted on Facebook about her show-stopping occasion. “His was the first fashion show I ever went to, and now I walk for him. Beautiful, simply.

India Couture Week takes place in New Delhi from July 25 to August 2 of this year. The Taj Palace is the primary venue for fashion week, but there are runway shows happening all across the city as well. Following a custom that started during the pandemic, the fashion presentations are aired online so that anyone can watch.

Hyundai is the event’s title sponsor, and the Fashion Design Council of India’s India Couture Week is organised in collaboration with Reliance Brands. Among the 16 designers taking part in the fashion week are Ritu Kumar, Falguni Shane Peacock, Dolly J, and Gaurav Gupta.
