January 2026 marks a significant milestone for Asahi Kasei with the gradual restart of Bemberg™ production at its Nobeoka facility in Japan. This site remains the only production location for Bemberg™ globally. The restart follows the partial shutdown caused by the incident in April 2022.

The resumption comes after extensive investments and sustained efforts to strengthen safety systems, restore operations, and ensure long-term production stability. As production ramps up in phases, Asahi Kasei reaffirms its commitment to supporting the market with consistent supply, operational efficiency, and renewed confidence.

Commenting on the development, Kaoru Hashimoto, Senior General Manager, Bemberg™, expressed appreciation to customers, partners, and employees for their patience and continued trust. He noted that the restart represents a critical milestone and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to building a responsible, future-ready business in collaboration with its stakeholders.
