Prior to this year’s Wimbledon competition, the Princess of Wales had the opportunity to train with a tennis icon, and she looked absolutely stunning in classic white from head to toe.
The devoted tennis player, who also serves as the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club’s patron, teamed up with eight-time Wimbledon victor Roger Federer to shoot a behind-the-scenes video honouring the Ball Boys and Girls (BBGs) who make the storied competition run smoothly. The princess and the tennis pro watch the BBGs’ scheduled training sessions in the four-minute clip, which was shot earlier this month. These sessions are where they practise their skills in preparation for competition.
Following a doubles rally with Federer and two other players, Kate, who is dressed in a spotless white tennis top and skirt for the short film, takes part in numerous training sessions that cover signalling, ball changes, rolling balls up to the net, and the proper ways to bounce the balls to players.
Before posing for a group photo, the pair spoke with returning and aspiring BBGs to learn about their experiences in the role-training process.
“To witness the preparation, commitment, and amount of effort put into preparation, as well as making sure that this goes well on the day for the champions who are playing at Wimbledon… The video’s conclusion features Kate saying, “It’s amazing to witness it behind the scenes.
The Ball Boys and Girls team at Wimbledon has about 250 teenagers, with an average age of 15 among them, according to the competition’s website. They start practising in February at the Raynes Park Community Sports Ground in preparation for this year’s competition, which runs from July 3 to July 16.
