The planning and product lifecycle management section of Aptos will be acquired by Aptean, a major provider of retail technology solutions and a global provider of mission-critical enterprise software solutions, according to an announcement made today. The projected acquisition will enhance Aptean’s fashion and apparel presence and increase its cloud-based software services for the apparel, luxury, fashion, and specialty retail industries. After the deal, Aptos will keep concentrating on its portfolio of unified commerce solutions for the retail industry, including its POS, order management, merchandising, and other applications designed specifically for the industry.
Through the deal, Aptean will take over all of Aptos’ planning division’s business operations and product portfolio, which includes solutions for assortment planning (AP), product lifecycle management (PLM), merchandise financial planning (MFP), and allocation, forecasting, and replenishment (AFR). With the addition of these products, Aptean will be able to provide the apparel industry with tools that support the entire apparel merchandise lifecycle from concept to shelf, providing visibility and real-time insights into financial planning, design, purchasing, distribution, and delivery. These tools will complement Aptean’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) and shop floor control (SFC) offerings.
