Under the Skill India initiative, the Apparel Made-Ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) has introduced a free online bag-making training course for women. The government’s prohibition on single-use plastic has increased demand for jute and cloth bags. The council’s programme will not only help to satisfy the increased demand, but it will also support women in developing their fundamental sewing skills and gaining independence. All female applicants who want to learn the fundamentals of sewing from their homes are welcome to apply for the programme.
