Au revoit, Cannes: Anya Taylor-Joy has already moved on to her next premiere location, London, only a day after Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga made its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

While the star flaunted her Old Hollywood elegance during the French Riviera festival—complete with gigantic sun hats, Dior couture, and a classic red lipstick—she has now returned to the world of method dressing, as seen by her out-on-the-town ensemble. Though Taylor-Joy may be channeling her inner biker girl, this isn’t the same post-apocalyptic wasteland that Furiosa lives in; with the assistance of the pantless trend, she’s giving a Mad Max-inspired style a very 2024 twist.

The actor experimented with not one, but two current trends. She had a black turtleneck on beneath and a big cherry red leather jacket draped over her shoulders. She wore a haphazard assortment of red and black leather belts with different sizes of buckles and embellishments in place of slacks, which reminded us of the many belts we saw on the fall 2024 runways.

She followed the fashion trend and wore a black high-cut bodysuit with white rosettes to create an off-the-shoulder neckline for the premiere. She accessorized the leotard—which was part of Giambattista Valli’s spring 2024 couture show—with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, transparent black tights, and black pointy-toe heels.

Anya Taylor-Joy demonstrates to us the endless possibilities that come with the pantless trend, whether she chooses to give it the couture treatment or forgoes trousers entirely.
