The Apparel Made-ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC), operating under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the National Skill Development Corporation, has introduced a sector-specific employment portal aimed at improving and streamlining recruitment across India’s textile value chain.

The portal, available at https://jobs.sscamh.com, is designed to bridge the gap between the availability of skilled manpower and the evolving workforce requirements of apparel manufacturing units, export houses, and home furnishing enterprises. Employers across all scales can post vacancies, access candidate profiles, and hire suitable talent directly without any fees or intermediaries.

Officials noted that this initiative is a key step towards formalising hiring practices in a sector that continues to depend heavily on informal recruitment channels. By offering a centralised and transparent platform, the council aims to improve workforce deployment efficiency and expand access to employment opportunities.

Alongside employers, AMHSSC has encouraged skilled and semi-skilled workers, including certified operators, cutting and stitching professionals, quality assurance personnel, supervisors, and fresh trainees, to register on the platform. The council highlighted that a large segment of the workforce remains outside formal hiring systems, limiting job visibility for workers and access to talent for employers.

Ashish Srivastava, CEO, AMHSSC, said the portal has been developed to build a structured and accessible employment ecosystem. “The AMHSSC Job Portal is designed to address this systemic challenge by offering candidates a structured and completely cost-free platform through which they may present their qualifications, sector certifications, trade skills, and geographical preferences to a wide base of industry employers,” he said.

He further urged industry associations, training partners, and stakeholders to actively support registrations and strengthen formal employment pathways in the sector.
