The worldwide supply chain for garments, footwear, and accessories has reached a major milestone in the Life and Building Safety (LABS) Initiative’s mission to promote safer working conditions and sustainable practices.

As part of this partnership, the LABS Initiative will closely collaborate with the garment manufacturers in Vietnam, Cambodia, India, and Indonesia that supply Amazon, with an emphasis on putting in place thorough evaluations.

Amazon’s commitment to improving safety standards in manufacturing facilities and promoting ethical and sustainable business practices is demonstrated by its decision to join the LABS Initiative. This partnership shows a common dedication to promoting constructive change in the sector.

“We are thrilled to have Amazon join the LABS Initiative as we support secure workplaces and sustainability throughout the supply chain. As a team, we’re excited about cooperating to guarantee workers’ welfare and support ethical sourcing methods “said Pramit Chanda, Global Director, Textile & Manufacturing, IDH, & LABS Initiative Spokesperson.

“At Amazon, achieving safe, just, fair, and sustainable supply chains have long been a top priority for all of our companies. We are happy to join the LABS Initiative because we understand our obligation to maintain safe working environments.”
