In a move to bolster the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India), e-commerce giant Amazon India has inaugurated the ‘Swachhata Store.’ This dedicated store will feature deals on over 20,000 cleaning products sourced from Indian sellers, small and medium enterprises, and manufacturers.

Manish Tiwary, Vice President of Consumer Business at Amazon India, expressed pride in supporting the government’s vision for a Clean India. The launch of the ‘Swachhata Store’ aligns with Amazon’s 4S commitment to cleanliness, focusing on ‘seamless smart cleaning,’ ‘sanitation for everyone,’ ‘strong commitment to cleanliness,’ and ‘safeguarding the environment.’

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India, applauded the initiative, stating that Amazon’s ‘Swachhata Store’ will play a pivotal role in advancing the nation’s goals for a healthier, cleaner, and more prosperous future. Emphasizing collective efforts and shared commitment, he believes this endeavor contributes to ensuring a brighter environmental outlook.

This initiative is part of Amazon’s broader goal to facilitate the transition of one million local offline retailers and neighborhood stores to online platforms in India by 2025. The ‘Swachhata Store’ reflects Amazon’s commitment to societal and environmental well-being, fostering a cleaner and more sustainable India.
