Alva Industries has broadened its SlimTorq™ frameless torque motor series by introducing three new diameters—25mm, 85mm, and 160mm—expanding the application range of its lightweight, high-precision motors.
Additionally, the company unveiled a 3-phase Hall-effect sensor option available across all SlimTorq™ variants. Featuring open-drain output, a built-in 1.2kΩ pull-up resistor, and 5VDC supply, this sensor simplifies integration for applications requiring basic feedback or commutation.
Known for its ultra-thin profile and performance, SlimTorq™ motors are manufactured using Alva’s proprietary FiberPrinting™ technology. This method delivers ironless, slotless windings with up to 60% copper fill, offering superior torque density, precision, and thermal efficiency.
Target applications include:
-
Precision gimbals
-
Surgical robotics
-
Marine propulsion
-
Defense and SatCom systems
-
Semiconductor and metrology tools
-
Lightweight robotics
“FiberPrinting™ allows us to overcome the traditional limitations of motor design,” said Nicolas Giraudo, Chief Commercial Officer at Alva Industries. “SlimTorq™ stands for precision, power, and flexibility in compact form.”
