Even the most charismatic individuals can seem and sense even more, well, strong wearing a power suit. Alia Bhatt, the May–June cover star of Vogue India, is an example of this. Bhatt is making waves and is unquestionably a formidable force to be reckoned with. A experienced actor in her own right, she has a recognised and varied body of credits in the Indian film industry, an array of important accolades, a Hollywood picture at her disposal, and an invitation to this year’s Met Gala. Alia Bhatt’s fashion choices are as varied as her acting choices. Whether it’s her ethereal white-and-ivory Sabyasachi look at her own big day or her ethereal looks in Elie Saab and Vaishali S at the NMACC cultural center’s grand opening in Mumbai, Alia Bhatt’s fashion moments have just as much of an impact as her films do.

The actor made sure to definitely, but ever so subtly, acknowledge her global power in the
most classic and empowering sartorial choice of all time—the power suit—when she
stepped out last night, April 26, for the GQ 35 Most Influential Young Indians Awards in
Mumbai. This may have been her last significant fashion outing before her eagerly
anticipated MET Gala look. The actor was photographed wearing custom double-breasted
blazer and wide-legged trousers in a checkered houndstooth fabric, simultaneously expertly
crafted by New Delhi-based designer Kanika Goyal’s brand KGL.
Bhatt chose a pristine powder blue button-up shirt, a navy blue tie, and a pocket square
from the brand that is essentially the architect of androgynous dressing for the current era:
Gucci, to compliment the fitted fit. She wore sparkly, bouncy Studio Renn rose-cut studs as
her earrings.
She chose to maintain with her trademark rosy makeup and delicate curls and added a
detailed brooch by Amrapali Jewels with three blooming roses to her typically masculine

suit. She was styled by the fashion and styling guru herself, Rhea Kapoor. A pair of barely
discernible black platform heels by Charles and Keith gave Bhatt an elevated length as she
added the finishing touch.
Alia Bhatt is intelligent, stylish, and strong—and she is aware of it. We are very excited to
witness what magic she will bring to the MET stairs next week!
