AK|OK Anamika Khanna and SUPIMA Announce AW27 Collaboration

The partnership combines Anamika Khanna’s design vision with SUPIMA cotton ahead of the March 2027 runway showcase.

AK|OK Anamika Khanna and SUPIMA have announced a collaboration for the Autumn/Winter 2027 collection. The collection will feature at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI in March 2027.

The partnership brings together contemporary Indian fashion and premium cotton. To mark the announcement, the brands hosted an intimate brunch at Nizwan Lounge, Taj Palace, New Delhi.

Anamika Khanna, Creative Director and Co-Founder of AK|OK, hosted the event with Marc Lewkowitz, CEO of SUPIMA. Around 40 guests from the fashion and media industries attended the gathering.

Guests also received an early look at select pieces from the upcoming collection. These designs offered a glimpse into the creative direction of the partnership.

Exploring SUPIMA Cotton Through Contemporary Design

AK|OK will explore new ways to use SUPIMA cotton through its distinctive design approach. The label is known for its unconventional take on contemporary fashion.

Meanwhile, SUPIMA brings its expertise in premium extra-long staple cotton. Together, the partners aim to connect fabric quality with modern design and craftsmanship.

The collection will highlight the versatility of premium cotton. In addition, it will explore how the material can inspire fresh ideas in contemporary fashion.

Speaking on the collaboration, Sunil Sethi, Chairman, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), said: “Collaborations such as these are important in creating new opportunities for designers to experiment with materials, techniques and creative expression. Anamika Khanna has consistently brought a distinctive perspective to Indian fashion, and her association with SUPIMA opens up an interesting dialogue between textile excellence and contemporary design. We are pleased to see this partnership take shape on the Lakmē Fashion Week platform and look forward to the collection’s unveiling next season.”

Jaspreet Chandok, Group Vice President, Reliance Brands Limited, commented: “Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI has always been a platform where meaningful collaborations between fashion, craftsmanship and innovation come to life. The association between AK|OK Anamika Khanna and SUPIMA brings together two distinct strengths: a bold, contemporary design sensibility and a globally recognised commitment to premium cotton. We are delighted to provide a platform for this creative partnership and look forward to its runway presentation in March 2027.”

Anamika Khanna Shares Her Design Approach

Sharing her thoughts on the association, Anamika Khanna, Creative Director and Co-Founder of AK|OK, said: “I’m really happy to be partnering with Supima cotton. For me, it always begins with the fabric. The simplest garment has to feel effortless the moment you put it on, and that only happens when the fabric is right. This association feels like a natural fit for how we make clothes at AK|OK: soft, easy and made to be lived in. It’s a collaboration I’m really excited about.”

For Khanna, fabric plays a central role in clothing design. Therefore, the partnership will explore how premium cotton can support comfortable silhouettes and modern styles.

SUPIMA Explores New Possibilities for Cotton

Speaking on the partnership, Marc Lewkowitz, CEO of SUPIMA, added: “I’m really excited about the Supima collaboration because I think it gives us an opportunity to look at cotton in a completely different way. For me, it’s about taking something as familiar and timeless as cotton and exploring its possibilities through our design language — through texture, construction, proportion and detail. With the collection, I’m looking at creating pieces that feel modern, considered and effortless, but still have a strong point of view. I want to explore how we can push the fabric beyond its traditional associations and create something that feels contemporary, elevated and relevant internationally. I think it’s a lovely opportunity to bring together the quality of Supima cotton with our approach to design and craftsmanship, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the collection evolves.”

An Intimate Preview in New Delhi

The brunch combined fashion, creativity and conversation. Guests viewed select designs and spoke with Anamika Khanna and Marc Lewkowitz about the partnership.

The afternoon also featured a live musical performance. In addition, a floral installation added an interactive element to the event.

Guests could create personalised bouquets wrapped in SUPIMA cotton fabric. This activity offered a hands-on way to experience the material at the heart of the collaboration.

Runway Debut Set for March 2027

The collection will debut at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI in March 2027. Until then, the preview offers an early glimpse into the partnership’s creative direction.

By combining AK|OK’s contemporary style with SUPIMA cotton, the brands aim to explore new possibilities in fashion. Ultimately, the collaboration highlights the role of fabric, design and craftsmanship in shaping modern clothing.
