Ajmera Fashion Represents Surat Textile Industry at Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 Launch
Ajmera Fashion Ltd. represented Surat’s textile industry as one of the official textile partners at the Surat launch of Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026, reinforcing the city’s position as one of India’s leading textile and manufacturing hubs.
Held on 4 July 2026 at the YPD World Convention Centre, the event brought together industry leaders, policymakers and business representatives to discuss opportunities for strengthening India’s manufacturing and trade ecosystem under the theme ‘Vocal for Local to Global.’
As a representative of Surat’s textile sector, Ajay Ajmera, Founder and CEO, Ajmera Fashion Ltd., addressed the Business Networking and Trade Talk session, sharing insights on ‘Brand Building and Exploring New Markets’ and highlighting the importance of building globally competitive Indian brands.
His keynote presentation, ‘Make in India: Surat’s Strategic Role in India’s Journey to a $5 Trillion Economy and the Vision for a $1 Trillion Textile Industry by 2047,’ emphasised Surat’s contribution to India’s manufacturing growth, the need for innovation and collaboration, and the importance of strengthening the domestic textile ecosystem to enhance global competitiveness.
The event was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including Smriti Irani, Former Union Cabinet Minister; Praveen Khandelwal, Member of Parliament and Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT); Ashok Jirawala, President of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI); along with members of Surat’s business and trade community.
Speaking at the event, Ajay Ajmera, Founder and CEO, Ajmera Fashion Ltd., said, “This platform has provided us with an opportunity to showcase the strength, innovation and capabilities of our businesses at a national level, considering Surat has always been the backbone of India’s textile industry. The Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026, jointly organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) with support from various Central Government ministries and departments, will take place from 12-15 August 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The Surat launch marked the beginning of the industry’s participation in the national event, where the city’s textile sector is expected to showcase its manufacturing capabilities, innovation and entrepreneurial strength.
