The actress wore a couture gown designed by Falguni Shane Peacock while walking the red carpet at the 76th edition of the film festival.

Despite having to wear a white plaster due to a hand injury, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s charm was evident in her Falguni Shane Peacock black and white gown, which was intended to match the actor’s plaster but ended up serving as an unexpected addition. Since making her debut at the 2002 Film Festival for her critically acclaimed film Devdas, Miss World 1994 has participated annually. She strolled the red carpet at the Megalopolis film premiere this year, directed by Francis Ford Coppola.

She looked like a theatrical Cinderella in the black taffeta corsetted gown with the billowy white puff sleeves. The gold details on her elegant gown were the focal point of her appearance. Rai Bachchan’s train, which fanned out from the end of her gown, was embellished with hand-beaten gold flowers and had molten gold detailing on the bust. Since gold “embodied a certain timelessness” in the actor’s life and profession, designers Falguni and Shane Peacock decided to honor the actor with this decision.

The star opted for a pale pink lip color and winged eyeliner to accentuate her well-known eyes. She eschewed her go-to sleek, straight hair in favor of an updo with brown highlights. Ever the risk-taker, Rai Bachchan chose to accessorize with statement-making gold half-hoop earrings for the evening.

Every year, Rai Bachchan has represented India on the global stage, donning a variety of ensembles created by both domestic and foreign designers. She wore a shimmering silver Sophie Couture gown with a dramatic, oversized collar that was tied with a black bow on the red carpet last year.
