Aiming for $100 billion in textile exports while breaking down barriers

According to Hon. Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Textiles, Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, and Commerce & Industry, the Indian textile industry hopes to export $100 billion worth of goods in the next five to six years, bringing the total value of the sector’s domestic and international markets to USD 250 billion.

The Importance of Ambitious Yet Achievable Goals We are moving forward with assurance in the Techade, which Prime Minister Narender Modi of India has carefully considered.

The country’s textile industry exported goods worth about USD 42 billion in 2021–2022. Piyush Goyal has also said that the textile industry should push forward with its efforts to start obtaining cotton to meet its demands, something China has done successfully for decades.

Today, it is crucial for business to consider and come up with ideas with the participation of multiple stakeholders, in order to bring in new ideas and views for everyone.
