The nova-Institute has unveiled the Advisory Board for the upcoming AI Circular Economy Conference 2026, scheduled for 4–5 March 2026 in Cologne and online. This newly formed board unites experts from artificial intelligence, chemical and materials industries, biotechnology, software, and academic research, ensuring a comprehensive and well-rounded programme.
The initiative highlights AI’s transformative potential in reshaping industries. Representing the nova-Institute on the Advisory Board are Co-CEOs Lars Börger and Michael Carus, and Head of Technology & Markets Achim Raschka.
“Artificial intelligence is changing our entire economy in many ways. However, when it comes to the bioeconomy, the utilisation of CO₂ and recycling, AI has the potential to be a real game changer, as there is even greater scope for optimisation here than in the fossil-based, linear world,” stated Michael Carus, CEO of nova-Institute.
Echoing this, Lars Börger, CEO of nova-Institute, emphasised: “AI is emerging as a powerful catalyst for the Renewable Carbon Economy and Circularity—accelerating the maturity of technologies and enabling entirely new business models. We are curious to learn whether our stakeholders share this view.”
The Advisory Board reflects expertise from multiple sectors. From chemical and materials innovation—where AI accelerates the transition to renewable carbon, bioplastics, catalysts, and advanced recycling—to AI-driven digital solutions such as predictive maintenance, supply chain forecasting, and process optimisation. The board also integrates research in data analytics, machine learning, and industrial AI applications.
The nova-Institute’s extensive experience in renewable carbon strategies, bioeconomy, circular economy, and sustainability consultancy adds further depth to the board’s capabilities.
The Advisory Board members include Dr. Lars Börger (nova-Institut), Dr. Tina Buchholz (VCI), Dr. Christine Bunte (PlasticsEurope Deutschland), Michael Carus (nova-Institut), Alex Dickmann (KI Bundesverband), Dr. Patrick Glöckner (Evonik), Prof. Dr. Dirk Hecker (Fraunhofer IAIS), Dr. Tobias Klement (CLIB), Dr. Wolfgang Lippert (Microsoft), Nils Janus (Covestro), and Achim Raschka (nova-Institut). Each expert brings strong credentials and decades of experience in chemistry, AI, sustainability, biotechnology, renewable materials, and digital innovation.
The nova-Institute invites industry professionals, researchers, and innovators to contribute to the Call for Abstracts, open until 26 October 2025 via: https://ai-circulareconomy.eu/call-for-abstracts.
