Academic Release of ‘Fashion Value Chain’ Celebrates Handloom Heritage

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Daman, marked Handloom Week with the academic release of a special edition of the reputed journal Fashion Value Chain. The event was graced by the Director General of NIFT, Smt. Tanu Kashyap, IAS, who unveiled the journal during a special program, “NIFT Conclave on Vikasit Bharat 2047: Local to Global – NIFT’s Intervention.”

Applauding the contributions of research scholars and academicians, Smt. Kashyap emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing in the fashion industry. While interacting with NIFT authors whose research featured in the journal, she encouraged students of Fashion Management and Textile Design to continue documenting their creativity, innovation, and design thinking to present India’s unique craft heritage at the global platform.

NIFT Daman Campus Director Dr. Brijesh Deore, Prof. Varsha Gupta, Campus Academic Coordinator Dr. Vidhu Sekhar P, Dr. Rahul Kushwaha (Foundation Program) and Ms. Anshu Choudhary (Textile Design) were present during the function.

The release of this special edition highlights NIFT’s continued commitment to promoting indigenous crafts, strengthening textile research, and contributing to the journey of Viksit Bharat 2047 by enabling India’s rich handloom and fashion legacy to flourish on the world stage.
