ABFRL Celebrates Success of 2023 Sustainability Program with 1M 1B Partnership

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL), a prominent Indian fashion company, proudly concludes its Sustainability Accelerator Program 2023, a collaborative effort with 1 Million for 1 Billion (1M 1B). This initiative, held in November 2023, underscores ABFRL’s dedication to fostering sustainable practices, empowering Indian students, and cultivating the skills necessary for a collective commitment to sustainability.The participants received co-branded ‘Certificates of Participation’ from ABFRL and 1M 1B, acknowledging their dedication and accomplishments. The top 20 students, selected for industry engagement at an ABFRL campus, were further recognized with diplomas for their outstanding performance during the 5-day internship.

The Sustainability Accelerator Program 2023 achieved significant milestones by nurturing a new generation of environmentally conscious leaders. Participants not only became proactive advocates for climate change but also gained valuable insights into cutting-edge technology, realizing their pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future. The program provided hands-on activities related to sustainable technology, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Moreover, mentorship by global experts allowed students to transform their original ideas into tangible solutions, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity.

Dr. Naresh Tyagi, Chief Sustainability Officer at ABFRL, emphasized the program’s importance in instilling a sustainability mindset in India’s youth, empowering them to lead the charge for a greener future. The program aimed to mold students into responsible, people-centric corporate leaders prioritizing societal well-being.Manav Subodh, Founder of 1M 1B, expressed pride in the unique partnership, highlighting its focus on placing sustainability at the core of their endeavors. The internship not only encouraged students to contribute meaningfully to climate change but also exposed them to the role of technology in shaping a more environmentally friendly planet, with mentorship from ABFRL leaders.

The carefully crafted Internship Program maximized learning and engagement through six dedicated Learning Days. Participants delved into sustainability concepts, innovations, and green skills through instructor-led seminars. Practical application of this knowledge allowed students to address real-world sustainability challenges.
