Hollywood and fashion heavyweights went all out for the Cannes Film Festival 2023 red carpet event, which was hosted in France’s French Riviera. They wore stunning dresses and sparkling diamonds. The occasion, which began on May 16, 2023, will go through May 27. Celebrities that attended the event included Catherine Zeta-Jones, Naomi Campbell, Brie Larson, Helen Mirren, and Charlotte Casiraghi.
Brie Larson, a member of this year’s prestigious judging panel and a star of the Marvel franchise, took center stage while dressed in a voluminous gold silk gown with an embroidered V-neck top. According to media sources, the outfit, which was initially displayed on Chanel’s Resort 2024 runway, showed her loyalty to the company under the terms of her ambassadorship contract.
The enduring Helen Mirren made a big impression by dyeing her hair a variety of blue hues to match her silk Del Core gown. On the other side, Elle Fanning caught everyone’s attention in an Alexander McQueen gown that had a silver beaded bodice and a pale pink tulle train adorned with diamonds.
Naomi Campbell, a supermodel, embodied classic Hollywood glitz in a sequin Celine gown adorned with diamond Chopard cuffs and wacky white eyeglasses. Alessandra Ambrosio, a former Victoria’s Secret model from Brazil, was not far behind in a classic Elie Saab Couture outfit from the Autumn/Winter 2005 line.
Elie Saab’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection featured a sweeping crimson and fuschia ombre gown that Catherine Zeta-Jones, a Welsh cinema legend, wore. Uma Thurman also made a spectacular entrance, wearing a blush pink Dior gown with a scarlet opera cloak, Chopard jewels, and accessories.
While French director Julia Ducournau wore a voluminous, textured Givenchy dress, Monaco royal Charlotte Casiraghi opted to attend the event in Chanel couture.
The 76th Cannes Film Festival opened with a glittering parade of celebrities, including Gong Li, Catherine Deneuve, and Pom Klementieff. Victoria Silvstedt and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing both attended the ‘Jeanne du Barry’ premiere wearing gowns by Christopher Bu, one with a tiger design and the other with a tiered butter-yellow hue.
With a Pomellato necklace to contrast, French model Cindy Bruna looked stunning in an oversized glen check suit with ruffle detail.
Many Indian celebs also made fashion statements at the international event.
At her Cannes Film Festival premiere, Sara Ali Khan celebrated her roots by donning an elaborately hand-embroidered white and beige lehenga by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
Esha Gupta opted for a tastefully nipped at the waist exquisite and seductive white Nicholas Jebran gown for her debut Cannes appearance.
Manushi Chhillar enhanced her appearance by accessorising with a diamond and emerald necklace by Renu Oberoi while wearing a white strapless Fovari gown.
Former Miss Universe Urvashi Rautela, who completed her look with a voluminous top knot, didn’t hesitate to make a statement in a beautiful pink tulle gown.
