Tata Group’s Trent Forms Joint Venture with MAS Amity to Create, Design and Produce Products for Intimate Apparel and Clothing Industry in India

Trent, a retailer owned by the Tata Group, has a 50:50 joint venture with MAS Amity Pte. Ltd. The companies will establish a company in India to collaboratively create, design, and produce the products for an intimate apparel and clothing industry.

According to a news statement from Trent, MAS and Trent will combine their industry knowledge to create, develop, and produce a variety of intimate clothing products. The design and purchasing of relevant products will serve as the joint venture’s initial projects.

Noel N Tata, chairman of Trent Limited, stated in a news statement that “we see enormous opportunity to harness the rising reach of our brands to establish a differentiated solution in lingerie, activewear, and related areas.” “MAS delivers exemplary skills and a proven track record in this industry’s production of high-quality products. Trent’s strategic commitment to providing completely owned brands at its retail locations would be strengthened by this partnership with MAS, and MAS would be given the opportunity to further develop their global footprint. We are pleased about the potential to take advantage of our shared synergies and provide our customers with more value. 

Mahesh Amalean, chairman of MAS Holdings Private Limited, stated that “the significance of our cooperation with Tata rests in our shared sense of values and an appreciation of the vast commercial prospects that the Indian market presents.” By combining MAS’ expertise in product development and manufacturing with Tata Trent’s expertise in Indian retail, this JVA will enable us better utilise our individual and collective skills. This collaboration supports MAS’s long-term goals of growing the company and increasing our footprint in India.
