Heimtextil 2027 Highlights Textile Trends and Global Sourcing
The January trade fair will showcase new carpet, bedding and interior design platforms alongside global textile sourcing opportunities.
Heimtextil 2027 will focus on textile quality, product performance and global sourcing. The trade fair will take place from 12 to 15 January 2027 in Frankfurt, Germany. It will showcase new products and ideas across the textile value chain, from fibres and yarns to finished collections and interior solutions.
This edition will introduce three key features: Carpets & Rugs Excellence, Comfort & Connect and Heimtextil Trends 27/28. Around 2,900 exhibitors have confirmed their participation. As a result, the event remains at the previous year’s level, highlighting its continued global reach.
Changing Market Needs Shape Heimtextil 2027
Consumers now look more closely at price, quality, function and durability when buying home textiles. At the same time, geopolitical uncertainty makes global supply chains harder to manage.
Therefore, buyers need reliable products and trusted suppliers. They also want partners who can meet quality standards and deliver the required order volumes on time.
Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, said, “In a market that is increasingly difficult to predict, quality, reliability and strong personal relationships matter. At Heimtextil, trade visitors experience materials first-hand, discuss their requirements directly with manufacturers and find production partners capable of delivering the volumes they need. This combination of product experience, an international offering and personal exchange makes Heimtextil a reliable strategic partner for the industry – especially in a challenging market,”
Heimtextil Trends 27/28 Focus on Everyday Performance
Under the theme “Home-Maxxing – The Performance of Everyday Living”, Heimtextil and Milan-based design platform Alcova explore how interiors can do more while making everyday life easier.
The Heimtextil Trends 27/28 present three approaches to textile and surface design:
- Staged Competence: Codes, numbers and micrographics highlight technical performance and durability through design.
- Inside, Out: Visible seams, straps, zips and replaceable covers make product construction easier to understand.
- Hyper Presence: Natural fibres, rough surfaces, folds and patina highlight texture, material quality and the beauty of ageing.
Together, these trends offer practical ideas for retailers, designers and manufacturers. They show how products can combine performance with visual appeal. In addition, they help businesses develop future collections with a stronger focus on material quality.
Architect and designer Patricia Urquiola will also contribute to the Trend Space. Her presentation will include new works and further developments of existing ideas. Through this collaboration, Alcova and Urquiola will bring fresh design perspectives to Frankfurt.
