Yarn Expo Spring 2027 to Bring Global Yarn Industry to Shanghai
Yarn Expo Spring will return to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 10 to 12 March 2027.
The global yarn and fibre trade fair will bring suppliers, buyers and industry professionals together to explore new materials, sourcing opportunities and textile innovations.
The upcoming edition follows the fair’s strongest edition to date. In March 2026, more than 600 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions connected with over 25,000 visitors from 113 countries and regions.
The 2027 edition will once again take place alongside Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, CHIC and PH Value. This combined platform will create more opportunities for businesses across the textile value chain.
Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “In a changing economic landscape, last year’s record participation showed how important it is for the yarn and fibre industry to meet in Shanghai, exchange ideas and understand what the market needs next. In March, suppliers will have the opportunity to present their latest developments to buyers from apparel, home textiles, knitting and related sectors, discuss requirements and build business relationships for the long term.”
Changing Sourcing Needs Shape Yarn and Fibre Markets
The global yarn, fibre and thread market is projected to reach USD 182.7 billion by 2032. Meanwhile, Asia-Pacific continues to play a major role in spinning, filament and textile production, as well as downstream demand.
China’s integrated fibre, yarn, textile and equipment industries further strengthen Shanghai’s position as an important location for industry exchange.
Yarn Expo Spring will cover a wide range of materials. These include cotton and linen, chemical and regenerated fibres, fancy yarn and other specialised products.
As a result, visitors can explore new materials, meet suppliers and assess opportunities across regional and international markets.
Buyers Seek Performance and Traceability
Sourcing priorities are also changing. Buyers increasingly want materials that combine performance with stronger environmental and supply-chain credentials.
For example, interest continues to grow in recycled and bio-based inputs, better traceability and safer processing. At the same time, specialised materials such as glass fibre yarns are gaining attention for applications that require strength, thermal performance and efficient processing.
The previous edition featured exhibitors including Better International, Circ Inc, Everest Textile and Toray Industries. Many exhibitors reported positive business outcomes from their participation.
For 2027, the fair will feature an International Zone and eight dedicated zones:
- Cashmere Yarn
- Cotton Yarn
- Chemical Fibre
- Fancy Yarn
- Linen Yarn
- Silk Yarn
- Wool Yarn
- Digital Solution Zone
These zones will help visitors navigate natural, man-made and speciality yarn and fibre categories. Therefore, buyers can more easily identify materials and suppliers that match their end-use requirements.
Global Buyers Connect with Yarn Suppliers
Direct interaction remains an important part of the fair. Raj Bhimani, Sales Manager of Spinfab Spinners, who exhibited in the India Pavilion, said:
“The fair provided an exceptional platform for connecting with the global textile community. We engaged with a remarkably diverse range of customers – from luxury European suit makers seeking our aesthetically stunning, long-lasting yarns, to mass-market fashion buyers from Southeast Asia impressed by how our cutting-edge technology ensures consistency at scale.”
The feedback highlights the range of sourcing opportunities available at Yarn Expo Spring. Buyers can connect with suppliers across different markets, product categories and production requirements.
Innovation Events to Explore Future Materials
Yarn Expo Spring 2027 will also feature a programme of fringe events alongside the exhibition.
Key highlights will include China Yarns Fashion Trends, Tongkun · China Fibre Fashion Trend 2027/2028, New Fibre New World – Textile Materials Innovation Activities, and selected Enterprise Product Launch sessions.
These activities will connect material trends with product applications and commercial opportunities. In addition, they will help participants understand how changing market expectations influence fibre and yarn development.
The programme will also encourage knowledge exchange between research and development teams and the wider market. As a result, visitors can gain insights into emerging materials and potential applications.
Yarn Expo Spring 2027 Supports Textile Industry Connections
Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT organise Yarn Expo Spring.
