Together, these partnerships bring Nuyarn performance wool technology to socks for running, cycling, hiking, hunting and other endurance activities.
Nuyarn Rethinks Wool for Activewear
For decades, conventional ring-spinning methods have limited wool’s performance potential in activewear. Traditional spinning twists fibres together, often creating heavier yarn structures.
This process can affect drying speed and limit some of wool’s natural performance characteristics. Nuyarn takes a different approach to yarn construction.
The technology removes conventional twist and drafts superfine Merino wool around a high-performance filament. As a result, the yarn structure delivers greater loft, resilience and performance.
Strong Wool Technology Targets Durability
Nuyarn has also developed its Strong Wool technology. The process uses coarse interior textile wool that manufacturers have traditionally considered unsuitable for apparel.
Instead, Nuyarn transforms this abundant wool into lightweight and durable yarns. The resulting yarns can withstand high levels of abrasion.
For active footwear, Nuyarn’s Merino and Strong Wool technologies target durability, moisture management, comfort and lightweight performance. In addition, the technologies support demanding endurance and outdoor applications.

- Responsible material credentials: The technology uses RWS-certified Merino and carries OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 accreditation.
- Lightweight performance: Ultra-lightweight options combine reduced weight with durability for active applications.
