Molteni&C Presents a New Chapter in Contemporary Design at London Design Festival 2026
During London Design Festival 2026, Molteni&C presents an expanded vision of contemporary living at its renewed London flagship store. The showcase marks the UK debut of the Julian Sofa and Physis Kitchen, both designed by Vincent Van Duysen, alongside the Corsetto Armchair by Argentine designer Cristián Mohaded.
The exhibition also introduces the Molteni&C Bathroom Collection to the UK for the first time, featuring Framis, designed by Van Duysen specifically for the bathroom environment. A curated selection from the brand’s 2026 Indoor Collection further demonstrates its ongoing exploration of craftsmanship, innovation, materials and contemporary design.
Vincent Van Duysen: Architectural Minimalism
Marking his 10th anniversary as Creative Director of Molteni&C, Vincent Van Duysen continues to develop a design language centred on architectural minimalism, balanced proportions, refined materials and sculptural forms.
The 2026 collection includes the Julian modular sofa, Eter coffee table system, Mollis stool and Physis kitchen. Across these designs, rounded forms, carefully considered proportions and tactile materials create an understated yet expressive approach to contemporary interiors.
Julian Modular Sofa
The Julian modular sofa is designed around flexibility and social interaction. Its configurable modules can create compact, intimate compositions or larger arrangements, allowing the sofa to adapt to different spaces and lifestyles.
Inspired by the generous proportions of 1970s seating, Julian features deep seating, carefully calibrated cushions and lumbar supports. Contrasting piping traces the armrests and backrests, creating a continuous visual line across the composition.
A gloss-lacquered armrest module and oversized leather-covered tray introduce functional details that expand the sofa’s role as a space for gathering and relaxation.
Physis Kitchen
The Physis kitchen reinterprets the kitchen as an architectural and central element of the home. Designed by Van Duysen, it combines organic forms with refined detailing and a contemporary material palette.
Rounded edges, curved sides, a half-bullnose finish and softly shaped sink and snack counter create a cohesive visual language. Transparent glass doors and open compartments reinforce the sense of openness and fluidity.
A defining material is Hinoki veneer, a Japanese wood valued for its natural purity and resistance to humidity. Its inherent properties make it particularly suitable for kitchen environments.
Integrated warm LED lighting highlights wood veneers, marble and aluminium surfaces, while the kitchen can be configured in numerous ways to suit different spaces and requirements.
Mollis Stool
The Mollis stool combines functional performance with a restrained, tactile aesthetic. Designed for residential and hospitality settings, it features a swivel seat, wooden frame and base, contrasting metal footrest and curved backrest.
Its generous proportions and ergonomic construction are intended to provide both stability and lasting comfort while maintaining the understated character of the wider collection.
Cristián Mohaded Introduces Corsetto
Argentine designer Cristián Mohaded makes his Molteni&C debut with the Corsetto armchair, bringing together craftsmanship, material contrast and sculptural expression.
Corsetto is defined by a rounded upholstered body and a leather belt that rises from the base towards the armrests, creating its distinctive corseted silhouette. The contrast between the structured frame and soft, padded volumes gives the chair a carefully balanced visual character.
The upholstery can be specified in fabrics and leathers from the Molteni&C collection, with a range of colour and material combinations allowing the design to shift from understated neutrals to stronger tones.
Molteni&C Bathroom Collection
The London presentation also marks the UK debut of the Molteni&C Bathroom Collection, extending the brand’s design language beyond indoor, kitchen and outdoor systems.
The collection comprises three lines: Hi-Line 6, Ratio and Framis. While the first two draw from the established aesthetics of Molteni&C kitchen collections, Framis was designed by Vincent Van Duysen specifically for bathroom environments.
The complete offering includes storage units, cabinetry, mirrors, lighting, washbasins, mixers, accessories, drawer compartments and bathtubs.
Framis Bathroom System
The Framis bathroom collection uses structural profiling to integrate doors with the countertop, creating a precise interplay of joints and surfaces.
Lava stone is used for the washbasins, introducing a strong natural material presence, while marine plywood provides the thick doors with resistance and stability suited to environments exposed to moisture and temperature changes.
Double-sided tall units, wall-mounted elements and an integrated mirror complete the system, bringing together architectural precision and material sensitivity.
Sant’Anna Marble
Molteni&C also introduces Sant’Anna marble as a distinctive finish for its bathroom collections. The French stone features a deep grey to anthracite background with white and pale grey veining.
Its natural fossil inclusions, subtle calcareous formations and individual vein patterns give each slab a distinctive appearance. Its compact structure and workability make it suitable for sophisticated interior applications.
2026 Indoor Collection
The London presentation continues with selected pieces from Molteni&C’s 2026 Indoor Collection, including designs by Christophe Delcourt, GamFratesi and Studio Klass.
Delcourt’s contribution includes the Edmond modular sofa, Jeanne small table, Armand armchair and Leonard armchair. His approach focuses on mass, materiality and architectural relationships, creating pieces that balance sculptural presence with everyday functionality.
The Edmond sofa combines generous curves with architectural definition, while its contrasting piping highlights changes in form and structure. The Jeanne table uses layered tops and a slim metal element to create a sense of lightness and visual rhythm.
GamFratesi
The collaboration with GamFratesi continues through the Midday console and Atelia chair.
The Midday console brings together stone and wood through a restrained structural composition, while the Atelia chair explores the relationship between softness, proportion and structural precision. Available with or without armrests, Atelia is designed to integrate naturally into contemporary interiors.
Studio Klass and Gliss Master
Studio Klass expands Molteni&C’s wardrobe systems through developments for Gliss Master, including new doors, finishes and internal fittings.
The Meridian door arrives in three interpretations: Meridian Roma, Meridian Paris and Meridian DC. Materials and finishes include textured polymer, wood veneer, matte lacquer, ecoskin and innovative veiled glass.
The Vetra wardrobe island adds another sculptural element to the collection. Its glass top, aluminium frame and integrated LED lighting create a refined storage solution, while drawers and structural panels provide practical organisation.
With its combination of new furniture, kitchen and bathroom systems, alongside developments in wardrobes and interior accessories, Molteni&C’s London Design Festival 2026 presentation demonstrates an integrated approach to contemporary living rooted in Italian craftsmanship and international design collaboration.
