DeSL Launches Digital Product Passport Software Built on PLM
Discover e-Solutions (DeSL), a provider of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions for the fashion, apparel, footwear and retail industries, has introduced a new Digital Product Passport (DPP) solution designed to help brands create, manage and publish product passports directly from data governed within DeSL PLM.
The new functionality enables brands to generate DPPs using existing product, supplier, quality and certification information managed within the DeSL PLM platform. By connecting these data sources, brands can establish a more structured approach to managing the information required for product transparency, traceability and regulatory compliance.
As brands prepare for evolving DPP requirements, many continue to manage product, material, supplier, certification and supporting documentation across fragmented systems. DeSL addresses this challenge by using PLM as the central foundation for governing product information throughout its lifecycle.
DPPs generated through DeSL are based on current, approved product information and remain connected to relevant product and supplier records, including version histories and approval processes. This enables brands to bring together product specifications, material details, supplier information, declarations, inspections and certifications within a single governed data environment.
The platform also incorporates AI-powered document intelligence to analyse supporting documentation, identify required information and expiry dates, and compare documents against information maintained within the PLM system. This can help brands improve data accuracy while reducing the manual effort involved in maintaining compliance documentation.
“Digital Product Passports are fundamentally a data and governance challenge,” said Colin Marks, CEO, DeSL. “The value of a passport depends on the quality, accuracy and governance of the underlying product information.”
DeSL’s solution allows brands to generate DPPs at the appropriate product level and distribute them through QR codes, portals, retail systems and open APIs. Information can also be presented according to the needs of different audiences, while remaining connected to the same governed product record.
The platform supports a phased implementation approach, enabling brands to begin with priority products or specific data requirements before expanding their DPP programme across broader product portfolios and supply chains.
The Digital Product Passport functionality is available as part of the DeSL platform, providing brands with an integrated approach to product data management, traceability and digital compliance.
