ICAC International Seminar 2026 to Explore Strategic Synergies Across the Textile Supply Chain

The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), in partnership with the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) and under the guidance of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will host the ICAC International Seminar 2026 in Taipei on 10 September 2026.

The seminar will focus on the theme “Strategic Synergies between Cotton and Man-Made Fiber Value Chains”, bringing together international experts and industry leaders to examine opportunities for more resilient and integrated textile supply chains.

Discussions will address key industry priorities including sustainable development, the circular economy, innovative fibre blending and high-value-added textile applications. The programme will also explore how cotton and man-made fibre value chains can work together to respond to changing market conditions and evolving industry requirements.

Kanwar Usman, Head of Textiles, ICAC, will deliver the 30-minute keynote address, “Outlook for the Global Cotton Textile Supply Chain.” His presentation will examine emerging global trade trends, factors reshaping textile supply chains and market developments expected to influence the cotton and textile sectors.

According to Usman, geopolitical developments, changing trade relationships, sustainability requirements, technological progress and evolving consumer preferences are transforming the global textile industry. The seminar aims to bring together stakeholders from across the value chain to identify opportunities for strengthening resilience and accelerating responsible innovation.

The keynote will be followed by a panel discussion titled “Innovative Textile Blended Applications: From Production to Branding.” The session will be moderated by Justin Huang, President, Taiwan Textile Federation, and will feature:

  • Dr Charudatta Mayee, President, Indian Society for Cotton Improvement
  • Dr Fanny Liao, Executive Vice President, Far Eastern New Century Corp
  • Dr Hans Hsu, President, Ruentex Industries Limited

Participants will also have an opportunity to engage directly with Eric Trachtenberg, Executive Director, ICAC, and other speakers during an extended open discussion.

The event will highlight Taiwan’s progress in green textile manufacturing, circular-economy solutions and high-value-added textile products. Taiwan and ICAC have collaborated on seminars in Taipei since 2005, with eight editions held to date.

The main seminar will be hosted at the National Taiwan University Hospital International Conference Center in Taipei, with Mandarin-English simultaneous interpretation available.

Registration is free for the event.
