Beyond The Curve Reimagises Inclusive Fashion for Curvy Women
Beyond The Curve, VIRGIO’s size-inclusive fashion proposition co-created with actor and fashion advocate Anjali Anand, is redefining contemporary fashion for curvy women by combining inclusive design, trend-led styles and VIRGIO’s Made-On-Demand approach.
Available across VIRGIO’s retail touchpoints, including its store at Infiniti Mall, Malad West, Mumbai, Beyond The Curve is expanding access to contemporary fashion across extended sizes while placing fit, representation and consumer preferences at the centre of the design process.
Designing Inclusivity From the Start
Beyond The Curve was created around the belief that inclusive fashion should begin at the design stage, rather than simply adapting existing styles into larger sizes. The proposition considers the specific fit requirements, proportions, silhouettes and preferences of curvy consumers from the outset.
Its current collection ranges from 2XL to 6XL, featuring contemporary styles designed to balance comfort, versatility and current fashion trends.
The proposition also aims to move beyond conventional perceptions of plus-size fashion by offering curvy consumers a wider choice of everyday and occasion-led styles, with contemporary silhouettes and fashion-forward design at the forefront.
Strong Consumer Response
Over the past year, Beyond The Curve has served more than 30,000 customers, achieved an ARR of ₹25 crore and built a community of more than 100,000 Instagram followers.
The growth reflects increasing consumer demand for fashion that combines extended sizing with contemporary design, rather than requiring shoppers to compromise on style or fit.
Anjali Anand, Co-Creator, Beyond The Curve, said, “Inclusivity in fashion is about making women feel seen, represented and free to express themselves through what they wear. For me, Beyond The Curve has always been about creating that sense of belonging — where curvy women are not expected to compromise on style, fit or self-expression.”
She added that the proposition aims to challenge conventional ideas around representation and place curvy women at the centre of the fashion experience.
Building a More Inclusive Retail Experience
Amar Nagaram, Co-Founder & CEO, VIRGIO, said, “Beyond The Curve is a strong example of what becomes possible when we stop designing for an assumed consumer and start listening to the consumer. For us, inclusive fashion is not about creating a larger version of an existing product; it is about building the product differently from the beginning, with the consumer at the centre.”
The brand’s growing offline presence is extending its inclusive fashion proposition beyond digital platforms. Its Infiniti Mall store in Malad West provides consumers with an opportunity to discover trend-led styles and experience extended-size fashion in a physical retail environment.
Beyond The Curve is also available through VIRGIO’s website, Myntra, AJIO and Nykaa Fashion, giving consumers access to its collection across multiple shopping platforms.
