Angara Launches TAAL, a Fine Jewellery Collection Inspired by Indian Classical Dance

Angara, the global fine jewellery brand known for its natural gemstones, craftsmanship and made-to-order jewellery, has launched TAAL, a new collection inspired by the rhythm, movement and storytelling of Indian classical dance.

Timed ahead of Independence Day, TAAL brings together more than 60 handcrafted jewellery designs that reinterpret elements of Indian classical dance for the modern wearer. Drawing inspiration from Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Mohiniyattam, the collection explores how gestures, movement and rhythm can be transformed into contemporary fine jewellery.

The collection includes pendants, necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets, combining cultural symbolism with designs intended for everyday elegance.

According to Aditi Daga, Co-founder of Angara, her training in Kathak inspired the collection and its focus on translating movement, rhythm and gestures into wearable jewellery. TAAL aims to connect the heritage of Indian classical dance with contemporary design while celebrating its cultural significance.

The collection follows two key design directions. The first interprets the grace and movement of classical dance through sculptural forms, including the Medallion Halo and Coin Pendant series. The second draws from rhythmic bols such as Dha Ka Dhi Na and Takka Dhimi, translating their cadence into clean, geometric designs.

Traditional motifs including the ghungroo, lotus, Mayura (peacock) and sitar have also been reimagined through a contemporary design approach. The jewellery is handcrafted using BIS-hallmarked gold and silver, complemented by natural rubies, emeralds, blue sapphires and natural diamonds in pavé, prong and bezel settings.

The TAAL collection is now available online through Angara, offering a contemporary interpretation of India’s classical dance heritage through fine jewellery.
