GBTL Unveils FLO Memory Stretch, Introducing a New Era of Intelligent Stretch Fabrics

GBTL (Grasim Bhiwani Textile Limited) has introduced FLO Memory Stretch, a premium fabric brand developed to redefine performance in stretch fabrics through intelligent recovery rather than stretch alone. Unveiled at an exclusive preview event at JW Marriott, Juhu, Mumbai, the launch brought together leading textile professionals, business partners and industry experts to experience the company’s latest innovation in premium suiting.

Recognising that today’s consumers transition seamlessly between work, travel, leisure and celebrations, GBTL has designed FLO Memory Stretch to meet the demands of modern lifestyles. Instead of focusing solely on elasticity, the new fabric has been engineered to retain its shape after movement, ensuring garments maintain their appearance and comfort throughout the day.

At the core of FLO Memory Stretch is Rebound Tech™, a proprietary technology developed through years of research and engineering. The technology enables the fabric to move naturally with the wearer while returning close to its original form after stretching, delivering enhanced shape retention, comfort and long-lasting performance.

Crafted in Paris and engineered in India, the collection has been developed around six key lifestyle categories: Business, Everyday, Travel, Leisure, Party and Wedding. Each range has been tailored to offer the right combination of comfort, functionality and sophistication while maintaining the signature recovery performance that defines the FLO brand.

Welcoming guests at the launch, Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, Vice President & Brand Sales Head – FLO, said:

“Every stretch fabric has spent years asking one question – how far can it stretch? We believed the industry had forgotten to ask the more important one: what happens after the stretch? FLO Memory Stretch is a brand born from that question. Powered by Rebound Tech, it has been created to redefine performance — not by how much a fabric moves, but by how confidently it returns. This is not merely a new fabric; it is a new benchmark for occasion wear.”

Sharing the broader vision behind the innovation, Mr. Rajendra V. Agarwal, Managing Director & Group Mentor, Donear Group, stated:

“True innovation begins by understanding how people live, not simply how products are made. Today’s consumers move effortlessly between multiple occasions, and they expect their clothing to move with them. FLO Memory Stretch represents years of research, engineering and craftsmanship, and reflects our commitment to creating meaningful innovations that generate long-term value for our customers, our trade partners and the industry as a whole.”

The event also featured a technical presentation by Mr. Sushil Hada, PPC Head, GBTL, who explained the research and material science behind Rebound Tech™. His presentation highlighted that recovery, rather than stretch alone, is the true indicator of fabric performance, enabling garments to maintain their structure, drape and appearance throughout extended wear.

Adding a tailoring perspective, Mr. Ujjwal Savla, founder of Threadsmith and a Savile Row-trained bespoke tailor, discussed how advancements in fabric technology are influencing contemporary tailoring. He highlighted the importance of specialised construction and finishing techniques in unlocking the full potential of performance fabrics like FLO Memory Stretch.

Alongside the fabric launch, GBTL also introduced FLO CAST, India’s first biannual fashion forecasting journal created by a fabric brand. Designed as an industry resource, FLO CAST offers insights into global colour trends, fabric directions, silhouettes, styling movements and changing consumer preferences to support retailers, designers and manufacturers in planning future collections. The inaugural edition covers fashion trends from July 2026 to January 2027.

Speaking on the launch of FLO CAST, Aakash Mishra, AVP – Marketing, Donear Group, said:

“Fashion has always looked ahead. We believe the fabric industry should do the same. FLO CAST is our commitment to giving retailers, designers and creators not just products to sell, but perspectives to build upon. If FLO Memory Stretch represents how fabrics should perform tomorrow, FLO CAST represents where fashion is headed next. Together, they reflect our belief that innovation should inspire not only what we wear, but how we think about fashion.”

Following the exclusive preview, FLO Memory Stretch will move towards its official trade launch, where retailers, wholesalers and dealers will have the opportunity to experience the new fabric technology firsthand. With its focus on intelligent recovery, occasion-based performance and innovation-led design, GBTL aims to set a new benchmark for premium stretch fabrics in the textile industry.
