NIFT Mumbai Showcases Innovation at HGH India 2026 Expo

NIFT Mumbai highlighted its academic excellence, research capabilities and industry engagement at the 19th edition of HGH India 2026, held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Mumbai. As part of its outreach initiatives, the institute showcased its multidisciplinary approach to design education, sustainability and innovation through a dedicated exhibition stall.

The institute presented its regular academic programmes, Continuing Education Programmes (CEP), Craft Cluster Initiatives, the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) project and a range of student innovations. The showcase reflected NIFT Mumbai’s focus on integrating design, technology and management while fostering industry-ready talent.

The exhibition attracted over 43,900 trade buyers from more than 700 cities and towns across India, along with 32 international participants representing home textiles, home décor, houseware, retail, e-commerce, architecture and interior design. Key exhibition features such as Trend Forecasts, the H-Circle Product Innovation Awards, HGH India Interactive, and the Indian Heritage and Sustainability Pavilion aligned closely with the institute’s academic and research priorities.

The NIFT Mumbai stall received a visit from Smt. Vrunda Manohar Desai, IRS, Textile Commissioner, Government of India, who appreciated the institute’s efforts in promoting its educational programmes, research initiatives, craft development projects and collaborations with industry.

The participation provided an opportunity for NIFT Mumbai to engage with manufacturers, exporters, retailers, entrepreneurs, designers, prospective students and parents, encouraging meaningful dialogue and paving the way for future collaborations in education, research, innovation and skill development.

By participating in HGH India 2026, NIFT Mumbai reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable design practices, preserving India’s craft heritage, promoting innovation and strengthening partnerships with industry to develop a globally competitive workforce for the creative sector.
